Admin lost dashboard items

    Hello,

    A site I am working on has a strange issue. A few days ago, the admin user’s dashboard stopped showing any options except “your profile”. It’s unclear what event caused this to happen. I’m backing up right now and will copy over the wp-admin folder fresh to the server. Is there anything else I should consider?

    I work on Drupal sites and have really no WP experience.

  • This sounds to me like you’re not logged in as an admin, as that’s how the dashboard looks to users signed in with the ‘Subscriber’ role

    Thanks! Turns out the siteowner created a new user, though it would be admin and had the admin pass changed on them somehow.

    used phpmyadmin to make a new MD5 hash pass for Admin, then set the new user to Admin. It’s always the simple stuff…
