Plugin: W3 Total Cache. WordPress Database Backup no longer compresses

  • My WordPress Database Backup plug-in now lists a number of W3TC files that can be backed up, which is fine.

    However once these options appeared, the backup stopped doing a compression of the backup to a gz file, and now just does it native. Which means a 54 MB download instead of 12 MB.

    Is W3TC doing this? If do, how do I get compression back?

  • Did you contact the plugin author? I believe the path to the download might have to be excluded from caching or similar? I don’t know, but the WP DB plugin author would.
