[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] W3 Total Cache – Please Help

You can use https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/cdn-sync-tool/ to do a one time sync of your NextGen Gallery. However I don’t know if W3 Total Cache’s rewriter will rewrite the images. I personally, had to do a quick hack on NextGen to get it to use my S3 images from my automated S3 gallery.

The plugin, says it requires WP Super Cache to be installed too, which do you use ? Super Cache or W3 ?

Do you have any more details on the Hack ?

It requires WP Super Cache for the rewriting the urls for concatention of the CSS and JS. However to do a cdn sync it’s not required.

Hi Thanks tried the hack, but the slideshow is still pulling from the host site and not the CDN,

Do you know how to re write the URL’s or modify the slideshow so it pulls from the cdn ?

The slideshow isn’t compatible with a CDN, that’s the core issue and I have to assume by now that the NGG author is aware.

CDN Sync Tool is completely redundant and unnecessary plugin when W3TC is used.

Just have to point out that it’s not COMPLETELY redundant or unnecessary, since the only reason I put the W3TC as requirement and was going to fully intergrate with was because W3TC just didn’t fill my requirements. I had a need for it and I am pretty sure other people may also find a need for it every now and then.

What I’m indicating is that CDN Sync tool ads no features that W3TC will not/does not already have.

So what you’re saying is it’s useless because in the future W3TC will have the features CDN Sync Tool has which W3TC doesn’t currently have?

That’s some screwed up logic, mabye you should wait until W3TC has said features and then say it? It would make way more sense.

I hear you Backie. When I used WP Supercache, I had no issues with my CDN and Nextgen. After hearing everything about W3TC since I’m on a VPS, but I’m having this issue with NextGen, and after trying the various fixes, nothing’s helping.

I don’t use the slideshow of Nextgen, just the gallery with all the image thumbnails on page.

Interestingly enough, to get the Nextgen Gallery fix after doing everything else is to purge your cache on your CDN and it worked for me as my thumbs are showing again.
