  • I’m having the same problem. Contact Form 7 worked earlier this week, but won’t work today. HELP!

something must have changed, I don’t have any idea what. I haven’t performed any updates. the URL never used to change once you hit ‘submit’ but now it does. very weird.

No problems with my copy of CF7 on 2 different sites. Same versions of the plugin & WordPress.

Mine’s not changing URL when I hit “submit”. I get the green box that says the message was sent successfully, but the email never arrives.

I’ve tried this on two different client sites – two different servers, two different hosting companies. It must be a problem with the plugin.

I don’t see how it can be when I was able to receive emails within 2 minutes of sending them.

Scratch my last comment – it’s working on the site that is hosted at 1&1.

It is NOT working on the site that’s hosted at GoDaddy. I’m now starting to think this is a mail server issue.

Has anyone had this issue with GoDaddy?

The website that isn’t working is hosted at GoDaddy. I’ve tried changing the email address that the contact form mails to, and it doesn’t work at any of them.

So that makes me think it’s not a problem for the mail server – it’s a problem with GoDaddy processing the email.

Esmi, where do you host the two sites that are working?

    https://ukwebsolutionsdirect.co.uk/

    Linux servers in both cases.

my site is on GoDaddy and I called GoDaddy. we looked at code together, line by line. that is when I noticed the <form action=” line that causes the URL in the browser to change, which it never used to do.
obviously the plug-in is hosed. I never had a reason to look at code line by line so I can’t tell you if and what changed.

    esmi
please go to my site and see what happens, let me know

    thanks!

uggh. so this could be a godaddy problem.

what doesn’t make sense to me is that the PHP is validating, or you wouldn’t get the success message.

Esmi, do you know of any work-around?

    many thanks.

Form completed successfully (I think). No success message and the url changed to:

    https://processbasedleadership.com/webinar-registration/#wpcf7-f3-p1178-o1

I thought that the last part of that url looked like a combination of markup & CSS and sure enough:

    <div class="wpcf7" id="wpcf7-f3-p1178-o1"><form action="/webinar-registration/#wpcf7-f3-p1178-o1" method="post" class="wpcf7-form">

from the page markup. Could be a server or permalinks issue. What kind of server is this site running on – Windows or Linux?

Esmi, here’s a test page that i’ve been working on in my client’s site:
    https://wildthyme.ca/cf7-test/

My client is using GoDaddy’s Economy Linux hosting package.

I get the success message, but it is not in the green box like it used to be.
I agree, looks like CSS stuff, but I’m no techie. Learning as I go.
GoDaddy is the host, not sure, but can’t imagine it being Linux.

Just sent a message via the form. It appeared to send successfully. Saw a success message and there was no mangled url.

I also noticed that one of the GD people is currently on the forums, so I’ve tagged this topic accordingly in the hopes that s/he might spot it and join in.
