    Hi all,

I tried the search but was unable to word it to find my issue.

I am about to install WordPress to a website that has been entirely written using PHP.

I want to install to a subdirectory so it will be https://www.site.com/blog
My concern is that there is already a index.php in the root and I don’t want to mess up the whole site when I add WP, which I believe will overwrite the existing index.php file.

Am I worrying for nothing or what should I do to prevent this?

    Any help is greatly appreciated
    Joe

  • You can create Directory (folder) called blog and install wordpress in blog folder as that will not mess what is root.

then add a link on your main website for wordpress.

    Thanks Govpatel!
That is what I thought I had to do but I’m pretty new at this and just wanted to be sure.

    I can start breathing again.
