Cannot login or access site

  • When I visit my site I get the following error:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare __popular_posts() (previously declared in /home/content/66/7349366/html/wp-content/themes/lightword/functions.php:1052) in /home/content/66/7349366/html/wp-content/themes/lightword/functions.php on line 1293

    I also get this when I try to access the login screen. Therefore I cannot log in or view my site. I’m pretty sure it’s caused by a theme I installed last time I logged in but I obviously can’t change it without logging in.

    Any ideas?

  • ftp to site or use host’s file manager to rename the /lightword folder that is inside the /wp-content/themes folder
    this will bring up twenty ten theme and let you log in

    I have a similar problem. Last week I gave my developer a new access to the site to solve a problem and deleted his old account. I didn’t realize that in doing this I would delete the content he had built.

    The latest problem is that when I try to log in I get the following message:

    You can’t edit this item because it is in the Trash. Please restore it and try again.

    Ideally I would like it back in the time before the problems from the back up on the server. What do I do and how do I do it? (I am not a technical person so any advice would need to be very simple please ??
