    Hello Matt,
I received similar reports from many other users. None of them changed any settings and tweets being picked up are not spam – just random tweets. I investigated and concluded that this was a temporary glitch with Twitter search.

Some users suggested that there could be a way to inject tweets into the cache database by malicious users. I had the plugin reviewed by security expert and that does not seem to be the case. I’d be more worried if these tweets were true spam tweets but since they are just regular tweets it’s unlikely that someone injected them. I’m still double-checking the code to make sure there are no security issues.

The only fix at the moment is to clear the cache. Twitter search seems to be back to normal so you should start seeing your own stream now.

I’m about to release a new version of the plugin that will make a cache manager addon available. The addon will let you pick and choose which tweets to remove and also have backup/restore features for the archive.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

I turned caching off on all my sites that are affected and havent seen any more problems, with luck it was just that twitter’s search was having some serious issues – not uncommon.

Thanks for your help, look forward to the new version.

    Best,
    Matt
