• Hi,

    I have wordpress 1.5.

I would like to know how to change the order of items
    in the sidebar.

    Now it looks like this;

    pages
    categories
    archives
    Meta

I would like to be able to change the order around.
    Can I do this?

Like maybe put categories first, and pages next etc..

    Thank you

    Aki

  • I’d like to know how to add a new section there too.

Look in sidebar.php of the theme you are using and it should be pretty clear what to do. I don’t know how much of html you know, come back and ask again if you have problems.

From the admin panel, under Presentation, under theme editor, under sidebar template.

Copy and paste the section starting with…
    < li>< h2>Categories</h2>) and ending with

shortly after that to the location you want. ie above pages, which looks a lot like it (guess what’s different)

Basically, you’re looking to to cut/paste certain chunks. Just pretend that you’re changing the order of items in an outline, or paragraphs in an essay.

    Thanks ??

    Thanks people.

It worked as easy as you all wrote.

    I know. We rock =)

I’ve been able to do all that, is there a way to add content that isn’t married to the sidebar.php file, so you could see how your content looks in various themes?

Just create a seperate sidebar.php for each theme.

    Thanks.
