• I’m not really sure what’s wrong, it seems to be a rewrite issue. Anyways, I can’t fix it and I haven’t found anyone that could, but if you can then I will pay you.

Here’s the jist of what’s happening:
    1. When I click on a post title, it is supposed to take me to a single-post page. It does not. I get the WP 404 “post not found” error.

    2. Same with archives. I click on “April 2005” for example, and it takes me to a WP 404 instead of showing posts from then.

    3. Big problem. When I create a page with a slug of ‘yellow-page’ and a template as ‘template5’ and view the page, it looks fine. However, if I go and edit that page and change the slug or template (or maybe even post) it takes me to the WP 404 when I try to preview it.

I rebuilt the htaccess, still no go.
If someone could get all this working for me, I will pay you for your time.

You can post here or email me: c2n /at* comcast /dot* net
    Thanks a lot.

  • have you made your .htaccess writeable?

or have you tried adding a index.php before the permalink structure you want? not the prettiest but it might work.

I just sent you an email. Should all stem from URIs for the site.

And yes, if people are running adult sites, that’s fine and all, but PLEASE make sure you note that in your question so people don’t click through the links to find potentially offensive material. Also, you generally should have some kinda of landing page/registration where the user agrees to the content and that they are over 13 or whatever the legal requirements are.

    Okay, here’s an update.
I got it fixed. Someone recommended that I upgrade with the latest nightly build (which I never even heard of – bookmarked now) and it worked. Everything works fine now.
    That was odd.

Thanks for the attempt at helping, guys.

BTW…why is my post moderated? Did I mess up and put a url in there? Sorry about that.

Your profile has the site linked off of your name next to posts.

Also, I wouldn’t run nightly builds if you don’t need to — that’s dangerous territory! ??

Oh. Geez, I didn’t even know I did that.
    Sorry everyone.

David, I just replied to your email. Thanks.
Yeah, I hope I don’t have to do a Nightly again.

I didn’t moderate your post as such, but as many people may browse through at work or choose not to see your content, I thought it fair to flag it up so if they did click, they knew what was heading their way.

    No apologies needed ??
