• Hi,

got a client that runs a deli, and he wants to set up a website allowing people to place orders online, which then pops out of his printer (that bit i found a bit of software for, works lovely!)

the problem is how to construct the form – we’re talking about a selection of 35 types of filling, each offered in 6 different ways (roll, wrap, large bap, panini, etc)

how on earth can i encapsulate all the options into a form that will
a: look reasonably neat and tidy
b: gather all the information correctly and email it upon submission

each option will, i guess, need to be selected via radio buttons, in case someone wanted, for example, a bacon roll, and a bacon sandwich (bearing in mind this is mainly going to be aimed at local office buildings, so multiple orders in one form is very likely)

usually for a simple contact form, i use contact form 7, but this just isnt up to the job in this instance – i’m thinking an HTML form with a table layout is going to be the best bet – unless theres a way of using a VB-designed system within wordpress?

hope someone out there can help, my head hurts!!

The best plugin I know of which I think would be capable of doing this without making you tear your hair out would be gravity forms Its is a GPL paid plugin, but at £39 for a single use license its not expensive.

Version 1.5 is due very soon – I’m running v1.5beta4 currently on a site I’m developing and it has a new feature where longer forms can be split into multiple pages which will make the form look a lot more friendly. Also for developer license holders there’s a paypal addon if you need to take payment at order (this may be available to purchase for single license holders, but I’m not sure)

Sorry if this reads like a bit of an advertisement, Other forms plugins are available and I have tried most of them, but I’m a fan of gravity forms and paid for a dev license.

this is a pretty powerful form plugin as well…. as a free option to check out

thank you both for your responses – now looking through both options to see what works best for the client ??
