go into mysql and do a manual dump… that’s the drawback with myphpadmin, if for whatever reason it loses communications with MySQL (even though you are loggin into MySQL to get into myphpadmin)myphpadmin will not be in sync with MySQL… hope that helps…

I’m using a plesk parallels control panel – I can’t see how to get into MySQL – any tips?

No root access.. do you have a dedicated or vps?

Your only other avenue is to call the Host and ask them to move the flder called “DATA” under MySQL to your personal FTP folder where you would have access… otherwise, they will have to do the “dump” from MySQL for you… and then reload…

wait a minute… are you trying to do a “backup”? I am somewhat confused as someone else asked a DB question…

If you are trying to do the backup, and your site is running, then you simply have not selected the database to be backed up… the back-up will be downloaded to your local pc…

Yes its a VPS, so no root access.

I am trying to do a backup to my local PC, and the site is running, I’ve definitely selected the database in phpmyadmin, same as I’ve always done it.

That being said, with VPS you should have access to all your programs and files…

What is your OS… have you contacted support and told them you have an error with MyPHPAdmin?

If you have access via remote desktop of some form, you will be able to access all the files within your VPS… when you ftp to the site, what directories do you see?

At this stage of the game, your best bet is to contact technical support and tell them what you are trying to do…

Contact EHOSTING and let them know there is an error in your MyPHPAdmin build it sounds like a permissions error…
