How to make a form retain information?

I’ve had someone email me to say they filled out the form at https://vadirectory.net/team/application/ and when they went to hit submit was told they’d missed a field but when they went back all the data was gone. So they had to re-enter it all.

Is there a way to get the form to retain that information? I’m using a script from an autoresponder service.
