I went to a caching ‘solution’ last month and it has done wonders for the speed of my sites, I’m sure there’s even a lot more to learn with just the caching, let alone total optimization

    -HOWEVER-

I have noticed every few days the sites that don’t have mapped domains. So for example, my primary domain is varsitynewsnetwork.com. All of the sub sites that have their own domain name and are mapped with the mapping plugin forward and route just fine. The sites that are varsitynewsnetwork.com/subsite1, varsitynewsnetwork.com/subsite2, etc. All have issues. When I try to go to a subsite it just takes me to the main domain site. Better yet, when I try to empty the caches, everything is re-directed to the site that I emptied my cache. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure I have it narrowed down to my caching plugin.

Anybody else had, seen or heard of this issue?

    Many thanks in advance!!!

Are you mapping domains or just the standard subfolder and subdomains installs?

Also did you configure w3tc per site? I find it works best if you DO NOT network activate, and instead turn it on and tweak one site at a time.

I have about 12-13 sites on the same mult-site install. 8 of them have their own domain like eastgrsports.com, fhnsports.com, etc.

The sites that are having the problems are the sites that are just the standard subfolder sites.

    mainsite.com/site1

    mainsite.com/site2

    etc.

    I didn’t activate as a network plugin. I just wonder what I’m missing ??

That really is odd. I would start by turning OFF caching on the sub sites, and see if it’s being caused by settings on the main site.

I have been getting the same thing…

The sites that are having the problems are the sites that are just the standard subfolder sites.

    mainsite.com/site1

    mainsite.com/site2

    I didn’t activate as a network plugin.

I am using W3 Total Cache by W3 EDGE… started happening when I got help from my web host with this caching thing… Had them log in to my wp-admin and configure W3 Total Cache, even…

The re-direct thing is really frustrating.

Well then it’s probably how it was configured.

I would suggest using Disk (BASIC) for your page cache for starters, see if that helps.

    Any new information on this?
