Newby question: breadcrums?
-
I’ve searched and searched, but haven’t found the solution.
1. What I am looking for
I want to show on top of each page the hierarchy where that page belongs to.
For example:
Home / iPad Koopgids / Wat is een iPad2. How I think it should work
My assumption is that when I create a page I should identify its mother3. What I’ve tried
a) I’ve tried adding “wat is een iPad” page underneath the “iPad KoopGids” in the menu structure. The result is (obviously) that the “wat is een iPad” is visible in the menu (which I don’t want), but the breadcrum doesn’t change.b) When I created the “wat is een iPad” page I’ve set the in page attribute the head to “iPad Koopgids”. The result is that the URL changed
From: https://www.ipadkampioen.nl/wat-is-een-ipad/
To: https://www.ipadkampioen.nl/ipad-koopgids/wat-is-een-ipad/
, but the breadcrums didn’t change.c) I tried the “Exclude Pages from Navigation” plugin. This is order to avoid the page from showing up in the menu. That worked sometimes, but didn’t help the breadcrums issue
d) Finally I installed the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin. However, it asks me to add code to my template, which I don’t know how to do (I contemplated looking for something template.php and edit that file, but fortunately backed off from that idea.
I hope you see that I really tried finding a solution, and I hope you can help.
