    Try:
    Deactivate your plugins
Re-upload your theme… or just change your theme. You can use PHPMyAdmin to change your theme.

If that doesn’t fix it, try increasing your memory limit.
Then try completely re-running the Upgrade manually.

I have had that same problem alternating with this error msg as I try the various fixes suggested.

Warning: require(/home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-settings.php on line 19

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-settings.php on line 19

I’ve deactivated then deleted plug-ins, deleted and reloaded wp-admin and wp-includes, changed the name of my theme to force TwentyTen, deleted and reuploaded TwentyTen…I’ve done everything in File Manager and in FTP. I’ve used Chrome and IE. So far nothing has worked.

@flyoverone try and replace wp-settings.php file from a fresh download.

I just upgraded to 3.1 and got one sentence: “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class walker_page in /homepages/42/d127751870/htdocs/naacap/site/wp-includes/post-template.php on line 965”

Then I realised I missed a few of the loose single files from the 3.1 main directory to throw over the 3.05 ones via FTP and it worked like a charm. I was focused too much on the admin/content/ and includes directories. Simple mistake.

Using Ftp rename plugins folder to say plugins-hold and create a blank plugins folder then try logging in

If you can log in you will see all plugins deactivated go back in ftp delete the blank plugins folder and rename plugins-hold back to plugins.

Activate and update one plugin at time to see which one is causing the problem

Thanks @govpatel. Just tried, didn’t help. I have downloaded the upgrade four or five times now and uploaded it via FTP with no change. My pages are blank again now.

I’ve deleted wp-admin and wp-includes before uploading again. I tried leaving them and letting the new upload replace. I have re-uploaded all the files that aren’t in wp-admin and wp-includes. (Except wp-content) I renamed all other themes and re-uploaded TwentyTen.

Is there something else I need to do for a reinstall aside from upload the files? Someone else told me to then run domain/wp-admin/upgrade.php but I get a blank page with that, too.

What about plugins did you deactivate them

    flyoverone

    (@flyoverone)

Yes. I renamed the plugins folder plugins-hold and made a new empty plugins folder. All that’s left of my plugins at this point is Akismet (deactivated). I deleted the other two.

Do you think crying will help? Profanity is getting me nowhere.

Just checking other options that may be causing the problem did you rename .htaccess file

    flyoverone

    (@flyoverone)

    Just tried, no change.

Should I change the filename back or leave it changed?

    govpatel

    (@govpatel)

ok on this link there is code you put in wp-config.php so it will tell you what is causing the problem.

OK, I did that, got this. (I’m sorry–I’m not a developer so I need a lot of hand-holding.)
