Questions about Exhibit (or other similar plugins)

Hello,

I have a few questions about exhibit. I really want to use Exhibit to manage and resize images.

I have my thumbnails set pretty large, at about 400px, because I’m displaying my images all at once in a post, instead of having to click on a thumbnail. The only reason someone would need to click on an image is if I have a photo that is too wide to fit in the post, in which case the full image would pop up in a new window.

–Therefore I don’t need any photos showing up in the post except for the thumbnails. Is there something in the config that would take out the display image in a gallery and only show the thumbs?

–Also, is there any way to get the thumbs to link only if my photo is over 400px wide? Otherwise the thumbnail shouldn’t have an A tag around it at all.

If this doesn’t make any sense let me know. Also, if there is a better plugin to handle what I am trying to accomplish I would like to know about that as well.
