Do I reinstall?

    Ok so my sidebar is no longer visable in the widget section of my control panel and all I have is an empty “Available widgets” section. (All appears fine on the live website). Do I need to re-install my widgets.php to get this running again? Are there any other pages that might be affecting this that I should also reinstall?

    Have you tried:

    – checking through Troubleshooting WordPress 3.1 – Master List

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Thanks Esmi for your reply. The deactivating all plug-ins & re-activating & cleaning out the ones I wasn’t using seems to have worked. I haven’t yet pin pointed which plugin that was the culprit as yet.
