    Hi

    I’m trying to get an rss feed from a WordPress site I recently setup – should be easy enough. However when I enter the standard permalink ‘/feed’ I get the following error:

    “XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
    Location: https://s341501080.onlinehome.info/news/feed
    Line Number 5, Column 1:

    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?><rss version=”2.0″
    ^”

    Some existing forum threads suggest there may be a space before the tag. This isn’t the case with this instance.

    validator results

    if you’re sure there is not a space- have you tried disabling all plugins and testing?

    What files would you recommend I search to ensure there is no space?

    The site won’t function without the plugins. I haven’t tried disabling them yet. I will try this overnight and try to narrow it down to the specific plugin.

    understood but necessary as likely one of the plugins is adding the space

    I have tried deactivating one plugin at a time, and testing the feed link for each. I then tried deactivating all the plugins at one, and testing the feed link.

    Both instances the XML error was still present.

    What files should I check to ensure there is no space before the tag?

    @samuel B – Looking at your validator results, what file do I need to look at to rectify the issue?
