I can’t reorder the items in Appearance > Menu by dragging and dropping!

    To answer the inevitable questions:
I activated the default, unmodified Twenty Ten theme, and I have no plugins installed, yet the issue persists.

I also cannot drag and drop widgets to widget areas. I completely uninstalled my custom theme (so, back to default WP installation) and same issue. Any ideas??

Installing the Google Libraries plugin took care of the issue! Just in case someone else is running into the same thing.

Hmmm I have the very same issue (using Aurora Theme) I tried the Google Libraries plugin but no difference. Can’t drag the menue items in 3.1 – worked in 3.0X

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – increasing the memory available to PHP:

It is a javascript conflict. It is unusual to be happening on the default theme with no plugins though. Perhaps a script was cached somehow – or still active in some way as Esmi says?

Look for multiple Jquery files in the header – this is often a giveaway.

However, I have noticed this happening fairly randomly. I had a perfectly working drag and drop menu. I deleted it and added a new menu and this issue started.

Using a Google Library plugin can help. This is probably more to do with it using the noconflict code, which can help – or removing duplicated Jquery files.

That’s the quick lazy possible fix, if that fails, do what Esmi says! ??

I have the same problem … and I have it only with the Aurora theme.
Unfortunately the theme is now pulled from the market and nobody cares about it anymore.

Real shame as it was a nice theme!

    Anybody who solved that problem?
Anybody who knows a theme that is very similar to that one?

    Thanks

If you’re using Cloudflare, try shutting it down and then clear all caches.

There is also an issue with the jQuery UI Library and IE as patched (very) recently.
