child theme not using correct template for post page

  • Specifically: I have a child theme based on Twenty-ten.
    I have a home page that used a template called home.php
    I have a separate page that was set to display posts via the ‘settings’ tab in the dashboard.

    I can’t figure out which template page the Post page is using, but it is not the archive.php, author.php, single.php, or category.php

    I’m baffled. Any suggestions on how to pick a template for this post page?

  • The post page should be using index.php. I would strongly recommend that you rename you home.php template file to homepage.php.
