I changed site url in wp_options in myPHPadmin. The site shows up fine, but i get website cannot display page HTTP 500 internal server error. Did i miss something?

    ahh, figured it out

My problem is not same as charriott4s. However, it is under same topic line.
I have following the ‘Famous 5-minute install’. I am at point 6a – wordpress files in hosts root dir. When I enter URL and add ‘/wp-admin/install.php’ I get error message:

    Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Can someone point me in the direction for more information?

    Thanks

You have permission problem check if your permissions are set right.

    Govpatel,

I don’t understand you reference. Do you meam ‘permissions’ concerning the DB? If so, when I entered DB I gave ‘all’ permissions to users.

    Thanks

Permission of your folders and files
    folders need to be 755
    files need to be 644

    Govpatel,

    Thank you for your help.

I finally deleted all and started over again. I used a program from my Host Fantasico I believe and it has the site up. I still have issues, but it is up.

    Again, thanks for your help.
