W3TC and Rackspace Cloud Files CDN UK

The latest stable release of W3TC does not work with the UK api endpoint for Rackspace Cloud Files CDN. UK customers of Rackspace will find the plugin does not work.

I sent a bug report to the W3TC team who replied very promptly advising me to download the development version of the product (you have to do this from the www.ads-software.com website using the “other versions” link in the sidebar of the plugin page). I did this and am now able to use Rackspace Cloud Files UK with the plugin.

There is still an error in that the “create container” functionality does not work for me. However, if I create the container manually through the Rackspace user interface to cloud files and enable CDN for this container everthing works great from there.

I though this post might be of help to other Rackspace UK customers.
