From what I see, it does not. I’ve been trying to figure out where it’s failing — admin controls appear but it’s not hooking into the actual registration.

I can confirm it doesn’t appear to work in wordpress multisite (mu) blog networks as the registration seem more centralized, i imagine the hooks are different.

    All,

I have tracked down the problem with new user approve and WPMS. I have explained details of the fix and provided a “fixed” zip file on my site at: https://beshoy.girgis.us/2012/02/wordpress-multisite-multiuser-registration-approval/

    Hope this helps; thanks.

Thanks! I tried this out and it look like its working fine. I also inspected the code and it looks well done, and is a nice drop in replacement for the existing plugin. It’d be nice if @picklewagon merges your changes into the core plugin so it doesn’t get overwritten with updates. For now in my site i renamed it “Plugin Name: New User Approve MU” to avoid autoupdate replacing it.

Beshoy, any chance this is going to get added to the actual plugin? Or that you’ll submit your version to the repository separately?

Also, does it allow the individual sites’ admin to approve users that registered for their site? Or does all users have to be approved by the network admin?

I just wanted to update you that I submitted my svn diff to @picklewagon via his contact form. I searched for a way to submit patches “officially” but ran into a few dead-ends. I have not gotten a response and no update to the app. If you guys have any ideas on how to get the patch submitted via the proper channels let me know; thanks.

Beshoy, if you don’t hear back from him for some time, and try to get ahold of him. Since it’s all open-source, I believe you can just submit a new version to the repository. Just call yours New User Approve Multisite or something like that. It would be good to give him credit of course, but you have full right to just submit a new version (if I understand correctly). And especially if you can’t seem to get a response or anything.
