good ecommerce and shopping cart plugins

    My friend has asked me to make a website for him where he can sell 500 different types of beads. He wants it to have a search feature, images of all the beads (prob in galleries of like types), and a shopping cart. Is wordpress going to be okay for such a site.

    I was told that I would be looking for ecommerce plugins and shopping cart plugins for this sort of site. Can you point me in the direction of some ecommerce and shopping cart plug ins that are user friendly and could do this sort of site well?

  • Yes, WordPress can do it and yes you need an ecommerce shopping cart plugin. There are many shopping cart plugins for WordPress. All of the links below are to carts that can accommodate your friend’s request.

    WP e-Commerce, Cart66 and Cart66 lite (free), ShopperPress, eShop (free), Tribulant Shopping Cart, and eStore.

    Visit the sites of each plugin, check out the demos, the screenshots, the documentations — see which one you’re most comfortable with and decide. For the free ones, you can install them and try them out.

    Hi, you could try “The Cart Press ecommerce plugin”:
    TheCartPress plugin
    It has native integration with WordPress and powerfull ecommerce features.
