How to Play music/sound only once for the entire visitors session??

Hi,

I have a small music file that plays for 10sec on the homepage of a clients website. The problem is the client wants the music to play only once for the entire visitors session.

So far i have managed to play the sound only in the home page and not on other pages. But when the visitor comes back to homepage from any other page the music gets played again. I don’t want this to happen, i want the music to play only once for the entire session of the visitor. How can i do it?? I know its really annoying to play music on a website but still is there any way to solve this?

I searched for half an hour on the forum but couldn’t get any appropriate answer. Any help will be deeply appreciated.
