Okay, when going to https://www.domain.com it resolves to domain.com

I went to Domain Mapping and added both https://www.domain.com and domain.com. I then made the https://WWW.domain.com the primary…and it fixed it! It seems to work!!

    But I’m confused….

I’ve seen so many other posts which talk about how it needs to be configured at the .htacccess level, or how you need a CNAME or something…or edit the vhosts file…I haven’t tried any of these methods…

Is the method I chose okay? Is one better over another. Is my method okay for SEO? This issue has caused me so much confusion…

If something could shed some light (amen) ….that would be appreciated.

    Thanks everyone,

    Ronnie

Thanks Andrea…would you mind elaborating? It says in Domain Mapping:

If your domain name includes a hostname like “www”, “blog” or some other prefix before the actual domain name you will need to add a CNAME for that hostname in your DNS pointing at this blog URL.

I didn’t do that which is why I feel perhaps a problem may occur later in the database or something….

thanks Andrea for all your help in this forum…it’s awesome.

no, the whole message says nothing about databases. Just DNS and how people get to your site.

In other words, your host rocks.
