Do wordpress plugin directory also contain any malicious plugin

  • I am looking and asked for a related posts plugin that someone tried and tested but dint get so was testing few plugins without any success so is it possible do we have any malicious plugin in the directory or do they wordpress people test evry plugin before accepting

  • Unlike themes, plugins are not reviewed by a human being before being added to the Plugin Directory, so it’s currently possible for a malicious plugin to get added. If you do come across any plugin that you feel is doing stuff that it shouldn’t be doing, please post here or contact [email protected] and it will be removed asap.
