Zero Sized Reply, 500 error and admin functionality reduced
-
Hi. My personal blog is hosted at godaddy. A few days ago they moved my hosting account ‘on to the grid’ which speeded things up from the front-end. Yay!
But since then I have had a bucketload of problems with the back-end. Boo!
* When I create a post and save it as draft and call it back to edit it, I can’t publish it. I get Zero Sized Reply messages or 500 messages. It’s just the final execute that brings this. When I recover to my admin panel the original draft message is still in drafts, unedited.
* The media uploaders don’t work. Same result. I select media to upload and on commit (after a long pause) I get Zero Sized Reply or 500 messages.
* When I hit ‘add new post’ the template takes a long time to *completely* load. It appears almost immediately, but something in the background doesn’t come down; Firefox and IE both show ‘waiting’ signals. It can take up to 4 minutes for the template to completely load.Last night, in a fit of desperation, I deleted the entire website and all wordpress content. Then I installed wordpress 3.01 (all I had to hand).
This morning with WP3.01 I got exactly the same problems, except the media uploader did give me a button that did something when I pushed it, but after selecting the media file it gave me the same pile of error messages.
I’ve just upgraded to WP3.1 which has put me right back to where I’ve been for the last few days. Media uploader buttons that don’t work, can’t edit saved posts, slow-to-load admin functions and, on commit, Zero Sized Reply and 500 errors.
Can anyone suggest what I need to do to make life go back to normal please?
Thanks.

p.s. I have no plugins in the current installation.
