• Howdy!
I just started up my new site in WP after maintaining my previous site in static HTML. It’s definitely a work in progress, but I’m already thrilled with WP and some of the things I can do with it. I welcome all comments and suggestions.

  • Nice! Love the separator line with the RV silhouette, and the info for techies about the header photo – that one gave me a real chuckle. Nice photo too!

I like the background map. LOL @ post about header. ??

As a fellow RVer, kudos on a brilliant site! And I love the nice trick on the single post of including a link to explain your header photo. Very cool. Great work.

The background is fantastic. Wanna share the secret?

Lorelle, I have no idea what the original author used, but a whitefill with about 85% opacity (give or take) should achieve a similar result on any cut of decolorised map you want to use.

Looks kinda simple/clean and at same time very nice thought ?? Me likes. Good one.

I was thinking more about the repeat of the background to fill the page….It’s a wonderful effect.

    Lorelle,

    Thanks for the nice comments.

I just grabbed a piece of map, put it in Paint-Shop Pro, changed it grayscale, and then did some altering at the edges to make sure the roads all matched for a perfect repeat. Then I “lightened” the whole thing for a background. It came out better than I thought it would.

    I hope this helps.

Nice! Love the background image, very nice look. Great job.

    Tis wonderful!

    Cool site!

Now for a quick question – did you start out with an existing theme (i.e. one that is listed on Alex’s site)?
