Installation webpage cannot be found error

    Argh.
    Here is my situation, and I have no clue what is wrong.
    I registered my domain via netfirms quite some time ago
    Now I just signed up for hosting at hostgator.

    I went through the quick steps to install WP with hostgator and everything ‘seems’ to ahve worked. I got the installation success message from theri quick install.

    I check and I have a mySQL database and username…and they match the config file.

    I can see all the WP files installed under ‘public_html’ when I look in the hostgator File Manager through cPanel.

    But eitehr I am typing the wrong path to try and access my WP admin or something is wrong as all I get on my domain is “HTTP 404 Not Found”, except if I type in the domain without any extensions it shows the landing page from Netfirms.

    SO……..what am I doing wrong?

    Before I try removing everything and starting over…maybe I missed some steps for making sure hostgator takes over the domain properly from netfirms? What do I have to do at Netfirms to allow hostgator to host my WP site?

    Problem resolved I believe. Hostgator tech support found a file was missing…off and running now!
