• In a previous forum message, I suggested that Insert from Word offer the option to convert Word comments.

To do this automatically, it would have to be able to insert them while a post is unpublished.

At present, adding a comment to a preview results in an odd situation where the preview page goes blank; and comments can not be added when composing a page either.

By “comments from word” … do you mean in-line comments in the word doc, or like… regular comments?

I mean comments in the word doc, created using the Word commenting feature, which appear in the right margin in Word 2007 and 2010.

And another thought — I discovered that if I select all content in the Wrod file including comments, the comments do show up at the bottom of the post in WordPress, but instead of having an <a> tag, which would link each one to the text, they have an <a href="..." tag.

Mmmmmmm, I don’t think that would be easily possible, yet. As Word moves towards true XML, it may become so, but it’s not there yet.
