• I installed and tried to change ./about/ to ./about.php and got a 404 error for about.php. The permalink is set to custom /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ and the alias is set about/ > about.php. I can view about/. My version of Permalink Editor is 0.2.6.

    Hello again!

Can I ask if you have WordPress installed in a sub directory? (e.g. yoursite.com/blog/).

Your problem has highlighted an issue where 404 errors will be shown instead of the page if WordPress is not in the root directory.

Yes. It is in subdirectory but it won’t be in a subdirectory when it is finished. Right now it is in /staging but will be moved to the root. I am hoping then, that when I do move it I can quickly configure your plug-in and my pages to work properly. I just hate to wait to see if it works until its that late but seems like there’s no way around that. How much would you charge me to be on call that night?! ??

    Hiya,

Moments ago I committed an update to the plugin, which should hopefully fix the sub directory problem.

It has been tagged as version 0.2.7 and should be available for download very soon.

Give it a go and let me know whether or not this update has solved the problem you were having.

Steve, you are great in responsiveness. Sorry I have been out to lunch, and rather busy trying to launch the new site. I did not try your latest version on the site in the subdirectory. There was too much going on. But, it works like a miracle in the root directory where I finally upgraded and configured. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thanks – I try to be as responsive as I can, fitting in support and bug fixes whenever possible.

If you ever get around to testing the latest version on your sub directory install, let me know if you had any issues. From the quick tests carried out it seemed to be OK.

Thanks for reporting the issues you were having, I probably wouldn’t have spotted them myself for a while.

    (Duplicate post removed)

    Hi Steve et. al,

I’m a little late to the party, as I’ve just learned about the permalink editor and downloaded the newest version this morning.

I thought maybe I’d be able to bypass the bugs because I have wordpress 3.1 and perma editor 0.2.7…but alas, this is not the case. I too receive “Page Not Found” errors when clicking on my custom post permalinks.

    Any fix ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Ok, can you tell me any additional information and we’ll see if there’s an obvious solution.

    1. What is your custom structure set to on the Permalinks settings page? (under Common Settings)
    2. Are you trying to fully customise the post permalink of just editing it? If so, what are you trying to set it to?

    – Steve

    Steve

I have installed this and it works fine – for the most part. Then I noticed that some of my sub pages are getting 404 errors.

I have set the custom permalink to /%pagename%/%postname%

And i think (and I am no expert) that that might be where the problem lies.

on my site the page https://www.bootcampqatar.com/schedule/education-city gets a 404 error.

    But bootcampqatsr.com/schedule works no problem

    Thanks for your help
