[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] improvements for cache preloading
-
Hi,
is it possible to change plugin behavior for option “Cache preload”?
currently plugin reads sitemap and renders pages according to list. But sometimes it’s not good (what’s the reason for creating pages that are not very popular)
I think this could help:
1) preload cache with some sequence- according to priority value in sitemap. More important- first, then less important.2) define level of priority for pages in sitemap. I can define more important pages- giving higher priority rank (1, 0.8 etc), and less important pages- giving lower priority rank (0.5 and lower). And in “Cache preload” I could put a value for lowest priority: all pages with this value and higher could be preloaded (for instance, pages with priority 0.6 and higher. And those with lower values would be ommited)
3) preload cache with pages according to popularity. Plugin could maintain simple statistics for pages, and I could set option for preloading top X pages (let’s say- preload top 10 pages). Or plugin could make use of statistics from other plugins (SlimStat co-works with W3TC, you could get most popular pages from SlimStat).
Is it possible?
