    I am not using any SEO plugin, have re-installed WordPress and tested by disabling all the plugins but the problem remained as it is.

    Can anyone please help to identify the problem?

  • Have you tried switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    right now, the all-in-one-seo plugin is enabled;

    and there seems to be only one meta description in the linked page.

    have you solved your problem by using a seo plugin?

    Hi esmi, alchymyth

    Thanks for your reply to my query.

    Yes, I have tested with Twenty Ten theme also. The problem is same. Now I am using Pilcrow Theme by Automattic and still the problem is still the same.

    This problem gets solved by using the SEO plugin but I want it to work without SEO plugin also.

    Yesterday I have upgraded to WordPress 3.1.1 but the problem remains as it is.

    most themes do not have any code for meta description and meta keywords;

    if you don’t want to use a plugin, you probably need to program your own structure to add meta descriptions and keywords to your site (post and page specific, etc.)

    step one: define verbally what you want to show for a post, a static page, an archive page, the front page, etc.

    do you want to have this done automatically? or manually? or a mix of both?

    step two: see how you can turn this into code.

    Thanks for your time.

    Presently I am using Pilcrow theme by Automattic:
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/pilcrow so not sure if this theme is able to do it automatically.

    However earlier I have tested Clear Line Theme https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/clear-line and it was also having the same problem but this website do not have the problem which is not using any special code and only uses Clear Line Theme.

    Note my website is around 4 years old.
