Posts not appearing online

  • I need a little help with problem, The last two posts i have created save well and Publish to the internet when my “blog page is viewed you can see the posts, however when a person searches for the ondividual post all that appears is a message saying That the page was Not found, the One thing that these two posts hve in common is that i used the “get shortlink button to change the permalinks before publishing each post. here is what the the comes up when searching for the blog post.

    Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

    Hey t-p. thanks for the advice. Changing the permalinks back to the default structure did make it so that if a person clicks on the link in the archive the post comes right up But when a person (including myself navigates to my domain via the Navigation bar or links from outside web addresses, I still get the same problem, it says “page Not found”
    https://blackwolfma.com/ I am hoping that changing The .htaccessfile. will fix this but, i’ve never had to change any of these files and don’t have a clue what to rename It to.

    temprarily rename like .htaccessHOLD

    then read the codex (see link in post above) before you set a custom permalink structure
