• Since the site https://newquaycircuit.org migrated to a new server yesterday (completed by the webhost, database etc is intact), the site has been blank, and the error log throws up the following:

[30-Apr-2011 21:55:23] PHP Fatal error: fatal flex scanner internal error–end of buffer missed in /home/newquayc/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 79

I tried uploading a fresh copy of meta.php, but to no avail.

    Any suggestions, please?

-try contacting the hosting provider if there are any limitations/restrictions, etc to run WP 3.1.2 on their server.

-also double check all files/folders got uploaded, plus they got uploaded to the rihgt location.

You might also try uploading an entire copy of the WP codebase rather than just meta.php – there’s not much that I can see going on at line 79

The site migrated from one server to another with the same host. The installation works fine on 2 other sites of mine on the same server, and was working fine with this one since the migration. The host advises it is a script problem. All files are present and correct.

Tried that too, as that was what fixed things last time the site went blank. I am officially stumped!

Any further suggestions? Got my client yelling blue murder at me, and have no idea how to proceed from here.

Well… short of exporting the posts and rebuilding the site, I don’t know of anything else on the top of my head. Here’s some more questions:

    Who is the host?

Do you have any ability to change php settings, php.ini files, .htaccess files, etc?

Have you tried installing a new copy of WP on the new server as a test?

    Any non-standard plugins installed?

To disable plugins, you could always rename the wp-content/plugins folder.

Let me know if any of that helps.

-Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again. Documentation: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Using_Permalinks

-Also, look for both the Site URL and Blog URL fields, and make sure the domain name is correct.
