WordPress Noob Needs Help

Hey guys, I am very new to wordpress and was hoping somebody could help me. I want to set up a blog, and have a specific idea in my mind, but can’t find something that works. Here are some things I want.

Single column, with either fixed thin width, or an adjustable width so I can make it skinny(no sidebars, even within main column)

Custom header image(Doesn’t actually have to be custom, but one that I could easily put my own image into using style.css)

Menu bar below header

Two background images, one upper left, and one upper right.

Could somebody steer me in the right direction as far as choosing a starting theme?
