• Hi,

    When I log into my word press admin page, I can no longer see the left side column pages, plugins, theme links or anything except profile and a link to the dashboard. My site was auto installed on
    GoDaddy and I recently made sure the Word Press updates are current.

    Is there anything I can do to restore access to the admin pages etc? When I login there is nothing I can see or access except profile. If not, I’ll have to uninstall and reinstall Word Press, start over with the site.
    I did ftp in and deleted unused plugins.

    Thanks

  • Are you sure you are logged in with admin status? Sounds like you’re logged in as a subscriber to me. How comfortable are you with using Phpmyadmin to check and/or amend your database?

    Hi and thanks, I cannot even access to see what my status much less change it. I am the only one who has accessed this site however and it was working once upon a time. I would have to access the db through GoDaddy.

    Using PhpMyadmin (or another MySQL managament tool), first backup your database. Then navigate to your wp_usermeta table and locate the meta_key called “wp_capabilities” for your user_id. Change the meta-value for this record to:

    a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}
