I am a total novice, please help!

  • Hi everyone,

    I am looking to start up a blog to act as a reference point and listings guide for jazz music fans in my local area.
    I have been recommended WordPress by a friend but in truth, I am utterly clueless as to how to establish a blog and I could not make sense of the installation guide.
    I am using a Mac and as yet, have no specialist software or any space designated on the internet on which I can host the blog. I would like to run the blog for free if possible as I don’t intend or expect to make a profit.
    Can anyone help? I’d really appreciate it.

  • Why don’t you set up a free blog at WordPress.com? That way you don’t need to pay for hosting, and you have most of the options of a self-hosted blog.

    At WordPress.com, you can learn as you go. And, if you should ever want to host your blog yourself on your own domain, that’s also an option. If you are happy with WordPress.com, you can just point a domain to your blog there.
