• I have followed the directions on “Creating a Static Front Page” and yet my newly created Home Page still appears as a blog post with a comments box.

I do not want any blog anywhere on my site, but esp on the front Home Page.

How do I get rid of this blog/post/comments appearance and just let the writing I want to appear as what it is?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I’m using Suffusion 3.7.8

    my website is: https://jurywise.com/

I have made a new page called Home Page Test. Made it the Static Page choice under Settings – Reading. Made a separate page (I don’t care about) called Blog just so I could choose it as the “Posts Page” in case that was the issue. And under Settings – Discussion I have disabled and unchecked EVERY box to make sure no comments could be shown.

And yet its still a blog! LOL!

Thanks so much for your help!

When you’re in the “Edit Page” … under heading “Page Attributes” on the right side of the page is there an area where you can pick between different layouts?

There is “Parent” under which is chosen “(no parent)”
There is “template” under which is chosen “Default Template”
and there is “Order” which is 0

And where it says “default template”, what are your other options?

Someone at the theme Suffusion helped me figure this out.

    It was a WP issue.

Posting the resolution for anyone else with this problem:

On the “Page” page, whether adding or editing, there are 2 tiny tabs at the very top right of your screen: Help and Screen Options.

Click “Screen Options” and it will make available all sorts of choices. Make sure “Discussions” is checked. When you check that you will be able to see on that edit page the choice to disable “showing comments” and “all pingbacks”.

Once I unchecked these it removed the comments & blog type stuff from my static page.

    Hope this helps someone else.
