Permalinks won't update no matter what I do

  • Hi,

    I’ve searched these forums regarding other people having this problem. I assure you it’s not something simple like not hitting the update button after changing the permalink. It’s not that I’m trying to change the permalink title into one that is in the trash either.

    I can try and change it to anything, and it will simply not update. Once I hit update it reverts right back to the title that was there.

    I am running on a localhost environment. NO Plugins are installed what-so-ever. I have another instance of wordpress installed which is not having this problem at all.

    I’ve tried re-installing and re-importing the database, only to run into the problem again.

    Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

  • open the Apache -> conf -> httpd.conf file
    look for:
    #LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
    if present, remove the hash mark and save file

    Already checked that. Re-write is present.
    The mod_rewrite module is functioning correctly. It only seems once I try to update a permalink after I’ve already saved it under a different name that it won’t let me change it. So I have to delete the page at the moment, then re-create it with the proper permalink..
