What is the Google Webmaster Tracking Code Headspace2 request I input?

  • I’m lost and i can’t find help anywhere on this. Headspace2 asks me to input the “Google Webmaster Tracking Code” into the Google Webmaster site module. I put in the Analytics account number under the Google Analytics site module, but I cannot find any such code for Google Webmaster. In fact, Google’s own site says there is no such code: https://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=044a7857f4c4862d&hl=en

    So what does Headspace want me to input there? The person who asked this question on Google’s page says they searched for months and then decided they could ignore it. But what is the point of it being there if it can be ignored?

    Please help.

  • If you decide to list your site on Google Webmaster Tools, for faster indexing and/or any other reason you may have, you will be requested to upload a certain file to your hosting account or add a certain code to your page (which is unique and provided only when you submit your new website there), prior to submitting the site for crawling/indexing.

    HS2 helps you insert that code in your WP theme w/o the need to FTP anything else to the hosting account nor the need to modify the theme’s files to input the code into the HTML cosde manually.
