• We’re currently testing Events Manager before buying the full version. All is good so far (see usage here: https://www.killruddery.com/whats-on/ ).

Only thing is, our Facebook Like button is behaving oddly. I can get the button on the event posts with a shortcode (it doesn’t seem to appear automatically).

But when clicked, it only gives the page title as the link and not the actual event. All events are doing this. Plus, when you like one event, it adds the like to all events shown!

    Any thoughts?

Would be good to sort this before we buy the plugin as the Facebook like is a key element for us.

    Thanks

  • maybe you need to pass the event url instead of the page url

Sounds good, except I’m not sure how to set that up in the “WordPress Facebook Like” settings. No obvious place that I can see.

There’s a bigger discussion on this here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/social-sharing-idividul-events-issue?replies=18#post-2158429

the solution from Wambrose in the link you’ve posted actually works a treat.

The ‘like’ for facebook will still count and link to the whole event page, but the twitter links to the single event and if you use the ‘share’ icon instead to post to facebook, which is better as it gives the option of pages and groups as well as profiles, it will like to the single event. All you do is paste the code above in the single event (settings). You will probably have to disable the facebook like plugin that you’re using tho’ as it can mess it up a bit.

we’ll be adding some social buttons soon, but it will be a pro feature. we’ve been busy fixing bugs, but hopefully now it’s feature time.
