• This is really a request for a plug-in, and so I may be posting in the wrong spot.

I’m working for a University that is using wordpress for journalism classes. While multi-user blogging software would have been preferred, we found this version more stable and supported at the current time.

As each semester ends, we’d like to archive the users and their posts for searchability by professors and even the authors themselves while leaving a clean slate for the new semester.

This way, the lists of users on the sidebar is only current for the semester and the ‘expired’ authors are safely tucked away on an archive page.

Currently, when you ‘remove’ a user, it removes their posts, or at least the ability to view them. By archiving them, I’d like to keep the information about them while removing their ability to do any further posting. As I understand it, I could just drop their access level to ‘0’ and that would suffice, however, they would still show up on the blog list.

While ‘asking’ for a plug in might be more than support was ever meant for, any help even steering me in the right direction would be appreciated.
