How do you combine WordPress into a prev created Webpage?

  • I’m new to WordPress and I have had it recommend to me.
    I want to use wordpress to organise the databases and display of that information on my website. But I want to use my own design of website.

    How do I go about combining WordPress elements into my website template? Can I graft wordpress elements directly into my HTML page’s code? I have some experience with ASP and Access but not really much PHP experience although I can probly figure alot of it out given some time. But I could use some helpful pointers.

    Is there a procedure for this? Can it be done easily? Or is it a case of building a site a closely as possible in WordPress and then hacking and pasting my formatting in around it?
