Posting to a blog via email

  • I am attempting to make posts to my WordPress blog site via email. I have followed (with some difficulty.. I am pretty much a beginner at this) the first three steps at https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Post_to_your_blog_using_email.

    To finalize the post I am am using the first option: “manual browser activation” e.g…..

    “Go to the following link https://example.com/installdir/wp-mail.php immediately after you send an e-mail to your new e-mail account. (Note: You must do this every time you send a new post.) “

    I have substituted the appropriate addresses for my site.

    When I click that url it seems to work and I get the following message (for some test posts):

    “Author is [email protected]

    Author: 1

    Posted title: testing from an email sent via CU

    Mission complete. Message 1 deleted.

    Author is [email protected]

    Author: 1

    Posted title: test via gmail

    Mission complete. Message 2 deleted.”

    ==> HOWEVER, these posts do not ever show up on my blog!

    What am I doing wrong?
