[Plugin: Upload Widget] How can the upload directory be changed?
-
I’ve been trying to find an answer to this for weeks. It seems all uploads need to be sent to a folder inside the wp-content directory, but this isn’t productive for the site I’m working on. We have specific directories already set up for various file type uploads (for example, a base directory for all images, with various sub-directories for the category each image falls into, same deal for other media files). It’s a heavily customised site and we’re trying to keep as much of our own/user-submitted content as possible outwith the core wordpress directories (this works best for us in the long run.
Is there currently a way that I’ve not noticed yet – other than hacking the plugin files (which will be wiped each time the plugin’s updated) – of changing the upload directory to one outwith the wp-content one? If not could an option be added in the admin area to allow this functionality (ideally each instance of the widget would have a 100% customisable directory, but it all depends on how far the current plugin can be extended)?
We really like the simplicity of this plugin and want to use it, but this is a major issue for us…
Thanks in advance,
LJ
