• Hello! I transferred all my wordpress files and database to another server, I changed the config file to my new settings but yet it says “Error establishing a database connection” when going to the site..

I think it has to do with the “go to admin, settings, general” and change to the new domain but when I do so on my old server and click save I get the message “Error establishing a connection” and therefore it doesn’t save..

Can I change it in a file or something? Which file then? The sites name is:
    https://testaaaar.webatu.com/

    Thanks!

-First, try contacting the hosting provider if the database server is online / if they have any other problem at their end, or they made any changes to your account, or if there are any limitations/restrictions, etc .

    – double check your wp-config.php file settings for the database name, database username and database password. This is where most errors occur.

-Then check that you don’t need to change the database host from “localhost” to something else. You can get that info from your hosting provider.

-Check you have actually created a database with the same database name as is in your wp-config.php file.

-Last, but not least, if all that information is correct your database probably has a problem with it, and you may need to contact your hosting provider.

I am getting the “Error establishing a database connection” message when I enter the login URL for my site. I can’t think of anything out of the ordinary that I might have done to have caused this issue.

The site itself is still available to view, I just can’t get into the dashboard anymore. PLEASE HELP ME!
