I’ve just installed MediaElement.js plugin, version 2.1.5.
It looks very good and works perfectly in Safari 5 on a Mac. You can see it here:

After that I’ve tried several different browsers, but video isn’t playing.
In Firefox 5 and IE8 (both on windows XP) and Camino (on a Mac) I can only hear the sound of the video, but can’t see it.

I’ve also tried the latest version of Chrome (12 something) on windows XP, but there the video wouldn’t even start. No visual, no sound.

It looks like it is having trouble with the fallback to flash. Do I need to install something extra for this? How would I need to do this?

This is the most common problem is that your MP4 isn’t encoded in a way that Flash (or Chrome) understands.

Thanks for you reply John.
I exported it from iMovie into Quicktime with H.264.
Then I’ve used a different program to convert it into a MP4.

Do you think that I have to do something different?

My problem is specifically it’s not working in Firefox (mac Firefox 5.0.1 & PC Firefox). It works fine in Mac & PC Chrome, Safari, Opera, IPad Safari and IE 7+.

A small complaint I have is that the shuttle-bar is not visible/usable in the Flash version (or I haven’t figured out how to activate it yet) and the time never shows anything but “00: 0:”, but everything works great in browsers like Safari and Chrome.

Overall, nice work and any help would be appreciated.

I’ve used a different program (ffmpegX) to convert to mp4, now it works.
