who uses the WYSIWYG WordPress editor? can’t work on mine!

What permission? What’s the problem?

Darn it, I was hoping mudbomb’s WYSIWYG replaced the WP WYSIWYG. I need my quicktags.

Actually, you can get around from this problem (although it’s a little bit tricky but worth it if you are using alot of image-driven post).

1. Activate the plugin and start writing whatever you wanted to write with mudbomb’s WYSIWYG editor on.
2. After you finished writing and formatting your entry, simply deactivate the plugin and don’t forget to save it as a draft
3. Go to the entry that has been saved as a draft early on and put the <!–more–> tag where-ever you want on the entry, and publish it.

Note:this only works when you edit it on Firefox, somehow IE got a problem with it.

Personally, I wanted to use mudbomb’s excellent WYSIWYG to make things *easier* for my authors, so having to post then edit, or even mess about turning quicktags on and off just doesn’t cut it.

I think there’s something on mudbomb’s site about how to turn WYSIWYG editor on and off in easy method. Just check it.

I have a problem loading images. FWIW, I use GoDaddy and am among the 1% who, in wp-config, must cannot define ‘DB_HOST’ as a€?localhosta€?. (In my case, I must define as ‘mysql53.secureserver.net’) Not sure if this is relevanta€|

In my case, my blog is at a€?www.featuringdave.com/logicalmemea€? and my images folder is at a€?www.featuringdave.com/imagesa€?

Regarding setups in iconfig.php, I tried Kewinna€?s solution in the Apr. 5, 2005 @ 11:18 am comment at https://mudbomb.com/archives/2005/02/02/wysiwyg-plugin-for-wordpress/ (that site appears to be taking no more comments), but it didna€?t work. In my case, Ia€?ve tried:

1. Find this line in Wysi-Wordpress/plugins/ibrowser/iconfig.php

$tinyMCE_base_url = "$blogbase/";

And change it to this:

$tinyMCE_base_url = "https://www.featuringdave.com/";

2. Set the imagedirectory to images/, like so:

$imagedirectory = "images/";

Ia€?ve tried this and different combinations of whata€?s been discussed at Mudbomba€?s site but cana€?t get the images directory to load when using the WYSIWYG plugin.

Any ideas?

I think you can move your images folder under the same folder where you installed WP and it will solve the problem
